Matt McBride Joins BioEnterprise as VP of the Global Center for Health Innovation
BioEnterprise is pleased to welcome Matt McBride as the new VP of the Global Center for Health Innovation. In this role, Matt will be oversee the continued development, promotion and execution of the Global Center for Health Innovation and its mission of promoting healthcare innovation and making positive impact on the Northeast Ohio economy. This role will also allow Matt to promote meaningful collaboration between strategic enterprise partners, healthcare systems, industry influencers, and entrepreneurs to further grow the biomedical sector in Northeast Ohio and promote the region as a hub of healthcare innovation.
Prior to joining BioEnterprise, Matt spent with seven years with Cleveland Clinic Innovations (CCI), translating medical breakthroughs into patient-benefiting products to the commercial market. As the Director of Inventor Services, Matt established and implemented a process that was used to evaluate early- stage technologies and usher them toward a commercial outcome.
At CCI, Matt also held the position of Director of Business Development, where he aided start-ups with IP strategy formulation, product development guidance, and value proposition refinement. On a strategic level, Matt was also a part of the Healthcare Alliance team which sought industry and healthcare partners who could provide value to the Cleveland Clinic eco-system.
Prior to joining CCI, Matt served as a Naval Officer at several commands throughout the world. As a Naval Officer he served as Executive Officer of the Military Sealift Command in Diego Garcia, Program Manager for the V-22 Osprey in Philadelphia and Contract Administrator for Forward Operating Base, Camp Leatherneck, in Afghanistan.
Matt received a bachelors degree in political science with a focus on engineering, math and science in 2006 from the United States Naval Academy, and also holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
Matt lives in the greater Cleveland area with his wife and two children. Matt is active in many veteran programs and is a trustee of the Northeast Ohio Naval Academy Alumni Association. Matt also enjoys making furniture and has reconfigured his garage into a functional woodworking shop.
