BioEnterprise, Cuyahoga County, JumpStart, and HIMSS are pleased to announce that the 3rd annual Medical Capital Innovation Competition will take place at Cleveland’s Global Center for Health Innovation on April 17-18, 2019. The theme for the competition, “AR/VR/XR: The New Reality of Healthcare,” provides participants a platform to address how augmented reality, virtual reality and cross reality technologies will engage patients and clinicians and take healthcare to new levels.
The Medical Capital Innovation Competition is a business plan pitch competition open to professional and collegiate teams from around the world. The two-day competition gives participating teams the opportunity to demo their technologies and make their best pitch to an esteemed panel of judges in exchange for a total of $100,000 in prizes, mentoring, and access to business advisors, including world-class healthcare systems and collaborators.
Last year’s event attracted 180 applicants from 24 countries and 33 states, and yielded collaboration opportunities to four teams. Judges and mentors from last year’s event included industry experts from IBM Watson, Accenture, Cerner, Cleveland Clinic Innovations, University Hospitals Cleveland, The MetroHealth System and more.
The Medical Capital Innovation Competition is presented by BioEnterprise, Cuyahoga County, JumpStart and HIMSS in partnership with healthcare collaborators MetroHealth, University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic Innovations and Promedica, with additional support from Case Western Reserve University and develoco.
The deadline for applications is March 15, 2019.
