Cleveland Clinic Spin-Off IntElect Medical
Receives $3 Million Invetment

Biomec Inc. of Cleveland has invested $3 million in IntElect Medical Inc., a Cleveland Clinic spin-off company that is developing treatments for neurological disorders, including stroke and head trauma. Vincent Owens, IntElect's president and chief executive, said the Biomec investment will help the company continue work on a pacemaker-like device for the brain as well as on deep brain stimulation therapy concepts pioneered at the Clinic.
