BioEnterprise Board Elects New Chairman
Cleveland, OH, November 10, 2005 -- BioEnterprise Corporation, a health care business acceleration company in Cleveland, Ohio, announced the election of A. Malachi Mixon III as Chair of its Board of Directors.
Mixon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Invacare Corporation and Chairman of the Board of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, assumes the chairmanship from Thomas F. Zenty III, President and Chief Executive Officer of University Hospitals Health System. Zenty will remain on the board of BioEnterprise.
"I'm pleased to serve as Chair of BioEnterprise," said Mixon. "The initiative has accomplished a considerable amount in a short timeframe. We are getting national recognition for the region's health care start-ups. Investment firms from across the country are regularly reviewing deals and making investments in Northeast Ohio.
"In addition, the level of entrepreneurial collaboration between Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic, and University Hospitals of Cleveland has never been higher. The stage is set for Northeast Ohio to be recognized as a health care hub, at par with the likes of Minnesota and North Carolina."
Mixon will serve as BioEnterprise Chair for one year.
