Perfusion Solutions is a Cleveland Clinic spin-out formed to develop small, high output ventricular assist devices. The VAD design is a passive magnetic bearing pump, eliminating wear. No sensors are needed to control and position the impeller. The device could be implanted via a minimally invasive procedures.
