NextSlide Imaging(NSI) is developing an imaging toolset for clinical hematology labs that allows smear review to be performed on a digital image. They provide a subscription based service (pay per slide reviewed). The system is not limited only to blood smears. Customers are offered two options: either they perform their own review with NSI’s browser based application or NSI will perform the review with their technicians and put up the results on the hospital’s Labporatory Information System. NSI’s image based review application saves labor, improves speed and solves hospitals’ staffing problems on off shifts by outsourcing via the network.
